Croda GTCC (Glycerol Tricaprylate/Caprate) is a high-efficiency cosmetic base raw material produced by Croda Group (a leading global supplier of specialty chemicals). Its main ingredients are a mixture of triglycerides of caprylic acid (C8) and capric acid (C10). It is a colorless to light yellow transparent liquid with extremely low viscosity and a refreshing texture. It is widely used in the formulation of creams, lotions, makeup (foundation, lipstick, eye shadow), sunscreen products, etc., as an emollient, solvent, and dispersant.

Usage

Emollient: The recommended addition ratio is 2%-10% (adjusted according to the product type, such as 2%-5% for lotion and 5%-10% for cream);

Solvent/dispersant: When used to dissolve color powder (such as iron oxide in lipstick), the addition ratio is 10%-20%, and it needs to be heated to 40-50℃ and stirred evenly;

Sunscreen products: It can be used as a sunscreen carrier (such as titanium dioxide, zinc oxide) to improve dispersibility, and the addition ratio is 5%-15%.

FAQ

Q1: What should I do if the product clumps?

Solution: Due to the low storage temperature (<-10℃℃), place the product in a room temperature environment (20-25°C), wait for it to melt naturally and stir it evenly, which will not affect the performance.
Q2: Layering when mixed with other raw materials?

Solution: Do a small test first (10-20g sample), adjust the mixing ratio (such as increasing the amount of emulsifier to 1%-2%), or heat to 50℃ and stir for 5-10 minutes.
Q3: Is there an odor after opening?

Solution: It may be caused by oxidation due to contact with air. It is recommended to stop using it (the odor is rancid, indicating that the raw materials have deteriorated) and replace it with a new product.
Q4: Can it be used in baby cosmetics?
