XIAMETER™ PMX-200 dimethicone (chemical name: polydimethylsiloxane, INCI name: Dimethicone) under DOW is a colorless, clear silicone fluid composed of polydimethylsiloxane polymer [(CH₃)₃SiO[SiO(CH₃)₂]ₙSi(CH₃)₃]. Its unique physical and chemical properties make it a core raw material in personal care, industrial manufacturing, cosmetics and other fields. It is widely used in antiperspirants, conditioners, automotive polishes, release agents, electrical insulating fluids and other scenarios.

Avoid direct sunlight and store in a dry, ventilated warehouse (humidity ≤ 70%). Keep away from open flames and high-temperature equipment (such as heaters, electric welders) to prevent fire. The container must be sealed to prevent moisture or impurities in the air from contaminating the product (water will increase the viscosity of silicone oil).

Q1: What viscosities are available for PMX-200?
A1: Dow offers a full viscosity range from 5CST to 12500CST, of which 50CST, 100CST, and 350CST are conventional hot-selling specifications (suitable for most personal care and industrial applications).
Q2: Can it be used for food-grade applications?
A2: PMX-200 has a food-grade version (need to confirm the model suffix), which complies with FDA 21 CFR §178.3910 standards and can be used as food release agents and food-grade lubricants
Q3: How long is the shelf life?
A3: Under correct storage conditions, the shelf life is 24-36 months (specifically, the expiration date on the product label shall prevail).
Q4: How to determine whether the product has deteriorated?
A4: If there is turbidity, precipitation, odor, or obvious changes in viscosity (such as thickening), it means that the product has deteriorated and should not be used.
Q5: Can it be mixed with other raw materials?
